Account and data deletion
Delete your TimeWalk account
TimeWalk is operated by Roundbear Ltd. You can permanently delete your account and associated server-held data from the app, or request deletion by email if you can no longer access it.
Delete your account in the app
- Open TimeWalk. If you signed in with Google, use the Google account connected to TimeWalk; guest accounts need no sign-in.
- From the home screen, open Account.
- Select Delete account.
- Read the confirmation and select Delete permanently.
If Google requires recent authentication, sign in again and repeat these steps.
Delete some data without deleting your account
You can remove an individual walk while keeping your account and narration balance:
- Open TimeWalk and select Past walks.
- Swipe the walk you want to remove, or select its delete icon.
- Confirm the deletion.
This removes that walk from the local history on your device. It does not delete your TimeWalk account, narration wallet, purchase records, Android backups or reusable stories that are no longer linked to your account.
To request deletion of other specific account data without closing the account, email timewalk@roundbear.org from the email address connected to TimeWalk. Use the subject Delete some TimeWalk data and identify the data you want removed. We normally complete verified requests within 30 days, except where particular records must be retained for the periods described below.
If you cannot access the app
Email timewalk@roundbear.org from the email address connected to your TimeWalk account. Use the subject Delete my TimeWalk account. We may ask for limited information to verify that the account belongs to you. We normally complete verified requests within 30 days.
Data deleted with the account
- Your Firebase authentication account and direct account identifier.
- Your narration wallet, including unused free and purchased narration minutes.
- Your server-held credit ledger and playback records.
- The direct link between your identity and retained purchase records.
Data that may remain
- Free-minute device record: a double-hashed device ID and a count of free grants, with no account identifier, is kept so deleting and reinstalling does not renew the free allowance.
- Purchase records: a pseudonymised record may be retained for up to seven years where needed for refunds, fraud prevention, accounting, tax or other legal obligations. It no longer contains your direct TimeWalk account identifier.
- Reusable stories and audio: generated stories, compatible audio and geographic context may remain for other walkers, but are not stored with the originating account identifier.
- Operational records: security and audit logs rotate according to the periods in our privacy policy; legally required audit logs may be retained for up to 400 days.
- Data on your device: deleting the server account does not remove local walk history, downloaded audio or Android backups. Clear TimeWalk’s app data or uninstall it, and manage Android backups separately, if you also want those copies removed.
